This summers colour clash.

new-year-make-upThis season seems to be all about clashing colours and mixing shades, so be sure to break away from your usual colour palette and attempt something a little new and experiment with colour combos you wouldn’t normally try out!

Canary yellows, uber bright greeny blues and greys work well together and can be applied both under the eyes and over the eyelids so put colour where you wouldn’t normally expect to see it. Sweep a yellow shade over the eyes and create a wing like shape in turquoise shades beneath the eyes for a statement look at me look, this look doesn’t have to be perfect however, use fingers instead of a make up brush to create a daubed on paint like effect that resembles a watercolour style.

A few products that will help you create this statement festival style include Max Factor’s Max Effect Dip-in Eyeshadow in Vibrant Turquoise, this is the perfect shade for summer and will really bring out the eyes. This is priced at a total of £5.99 and can be purchased from a variety of beauty counters stocking the brand. For best results team this vibrant shade with a yellow hue, try Maxfactor’s max Effect Trio Eyeshadow in Queen Bee, this can be obtained for a price of £6.49 and compliments the turquoise perfectly.

Pay ode to this season’s purple trend and finish the look with a slick off violet on the nails. Try Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in Diva Violet. It is priced at only £3.49 and is the perfect size to take away on any holidays you have planned.

Pre-party make up.

There are two predominant types of festival make up styles for this season, one being the full on fun style and the other being the morning after make up, where the goal is to hide the fact that you have in fact only managed a couple of hours sleep. Concealer and a great tinted moisturiser are your best options when wishing to create such a look. The most popular and most effective products available on the market today include Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturiser, which is priced at £32 and also contains an SPF20. Another product is the Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturiser which s a little less expensive and can be purchased for a price of £22. If there is sun 09377091801cream SPF30 is priced at £28.30 and also promises a healthy glow. If you have sensitive skin that needs a little more protection than others and requires a little more coverage, then for £26.50 you can purchase Jane Iredales’s Pure Pressed Base. This is a combination of one compact mineral foundation together with a handy mirror for ease of application whilst on the go.

With so little sleep and so much partying try the concealer kit from Confessions of a Concealaholic Kit in order to hide those under eye dark circles or any unsightly breakouts! This particular product can be snapped up for a price of £28.50 and as well as the concealer houses a brightening primer and mirror.

Make sure you look at your best by following a few of these beauty regimes and you are guaranteed to have a great time.

Pedi, Steady Go!

pedicure404x300We are almost in the height of summer meaning lazy days spent at the beach, picnics in the park and of course an array of summer sandals hitting the shops…cue perfectly pedicured toes.

However with our feet living in uggs for the past couple of months our feet seem to be showcasing none other than unsightly bunions, chipped polish and painful blisters. So if you suffer from worn and swollen feet why not give the Dorchester Spa’s Luxurious Caviar Pedicure. An hour and ten minutes worth of treatments costs £95 and includes the application of a luxury caviar foot mask, which works to soothe, hydrate and soften the skin. The properties in the Caviar also help to prevent the signs of ageing.

Once the caviar has been applied to the problem area a Turkish salt scrub is then used in order to smooth the skin, the feet are then wrapped in a pair of ‘heated booties’ that leave the skin and feet feeling revitalised and invigorated.

If you suffer from peeling, bumpy and red skin then the Blueberry Smoothie natural chemical peel from EF Medispa is the option for you and costs £100 for a 45 minute treatment which involves cleansing the feet with hot towels, using the skin friendly rosewater. CosMedix cleanser is then applied to the problem areas in order to prep the skin for the Blueberry Smoothie treatment; this consists of a light chemical peel, which contains no artificial additives.

The result is feet that are extremely smooth and soft, those that opt for this treatment will notice the skin on the feet flaking revealing a new layer of Pedi-perfect skin

Banish the effects of sleepless nights by following a few beauty regime tips.

thisIf you are experiencing the effects of both a busy lifestyle and sleepless nights then be sure to step up your beauty regime and banish that pasty and tired looking complexion.

Whenever you feel like this then its time for a little beauty maintenance which will in turn perk up that dull complexion! The first step of this beauty regime should be to invest in a great facial exfoliating formula or alternatively try a moisturising facial peel. Both products will work to scrub and rid your skin of dead skin cells as well as dirt that has built up over time, resulting in a fresh and awakened complexion that appears both smooth and even in tone.

The next step is to purchase an all over spray tan; an expert at a salon can either apply this at home or alternatively. A spray tan will result in an even and sun kissed glow, making the skin appear both radiant and in good health. Xen tan or St Tropez are some of the most popular products on the market to date and claim to achieve a natural looking tan in minutes that will build up over a few days to create the illusion of that ‘just stepped off the beach’ look.

The final step is to invest in some essential make up pieces; bronzer and highlighter are the perfect pieces for summer and again will result in a healthy facial glow. Lash extensions are also a good investment as by applying these will banish panda eyes and create the illusion of wide-awake and statement peepers.

If you don’t have the time or the patience to apply eyelashes opt for good mascara. L’Oreal’s all new Volume Million Lashes Mascara l claims to achieve eyes that scream look at me by separating each individual lash, in turn creating the effect of more lashes and no clumps at all.
