A few beauty secrets to abide by in the winter months

 

With the cold weather definitely on our doorsteps it is now time to follow a few tips in order to brave the storm.  Our bodies and skin can be severely affected by the winter months and can often be left looking a little undernourished, lacklustre and with no oomph!  There are however a few tips you can abide by in order to keep your body and skin protected at this time of year.

 

One such tip involves applying sun protection, it might seem bizarre since the temperatures outside appear to be below freezing but despite this, the harsh rays of sun can still be harmful, especially when reflected off the snow! 

 

As tempting as it may be, avoid washing your face with hot water or jumping in a steaming hot bath as soon as you step in the door!  Hot water in fact dries out our skin and can also cause irritation by inflaming the complexion.

 

Do invest in a very warm pair of gloves and rub in a rich and moisturising hand cream prior to stepping outside into the cold.  Both the moisturising agent and the gloves will prevent the skin on your hands from becoming dry, which can often result in the skin cracking.

 

Purchase a few multivitamins, your hair; skin and nails require a little more support in the colder season.  There is an assortment available from various health food stores and each boast to boost your energy levels, immune system and keep you glowing throughout the colder months!
