A healthy you for 2011

Everyone always says they are going to stick to a New Year resolution, however with hectic lifestyles, heavy work loads and a range of other commitments, such a resolution is lucky to last a few days!

Fear not if he above has described you perfectly, we have the perfect solution for you if you just don’t have the time to stick to a new healthy routine.

You can in fact lose weight without trying by adding chilli to your food for example.  Thanks to a process entitled diet-induced thermogenesis, excess calories eaten alongside the likes of elements such as capsicum and ginger are converted to heat rather than stored as fat.  Eating hot peppers has in fact been proven by researchers to suppress your appetite at subsequent meals.

Those that do have a spare moment to get to the gym should opt to take part in the all-new supersets, which means doing two different exercises in quick succession and will in fact allow you to burn up to 33% more calories than you would do following a normal routine.  The key in such an exercise working is to not rest in between sets.  Try holding dumbbells and performing ten squats at the same time, this should be promptly followed by ten bicep curls for a total of three sets.

Stretching your hamstrings is a great way to protect your back, especially if you spend the day sitting at a desk, hunched over a computer.  Every day after a warm bath or brisk walk, sit on the floor, bend from hips and try to touch your toes.  This simple routine performed daily will result in a better and happier back as well as less back problems.
