A master class in MAC
Andrew Gallimore recently held a M.A.C Pro Texture Master Class, which allowed those that attended to gain an insight in to how to use various different textures that makes up the exquisite MAC makeup collection. Such textures include gloss, glitter, oil and plastic and these are only a few of the assortments.
One of the tips provided by Andrew was his renowned red velvet lip, which has been described as ‘a dark Tim Burton fairytale’
In order to achieve such a dramatic look then you should follow a few simple tips. Firstly you will need to acquire a lip pencil in a red shade, which is priced £10. This should be used to line the whole mouth and in turn enhance the lips. If you desire fuller lips then you should take the line ever so slightly over the edge of the lip. Using a liplinerprior to applying a lip shade will also help you to mark out the look you are trying to achieve.
Using a Russian Red lip shade, you should then fill in the lips, such a shade can be purchased for £12.50, and this should be applied with the aid of a lip brush. A lip brush is a handy must have make-up tool that will allow you to get a sharp edge.
Using a Lip Pencil in Nightmoth, which can be obtained for a price of £10, this dark black cherry shade should be applied to the corners of the mouth and contoured towards the centre. Re-line the mouth with the darker pencil and blend it in.
For best results place a little of the formula on the back of your hand and using 217 Blending Brush, which can be obtained for £14.50 apply to the lip area and blend where the two shades meet on the lips.
The next stage requires you to apply red Pigment to the lips, which is priced at a total of £15; such a pigment will give that red rose-esq finish.
This lip shade works best with a sporty complexion, mix Reflects Pearls and Clear Gloss for best results. Another handy product that will achieve similar results is the MAC Strobe Cream, which can be obtained for a total of £21.
