Grunge-esque hair

This season’s catwalks have revealed a more laid-back look for 2010 and such a look dominated the runways for autumn and winter, as well as a series of nude complexions finished with edgy boyish brows, a new look raised its head.  The new style grunge-esque hair was most definitely the go-to style for array of designers.

Each designer appeared to have abandoned the regular styling tools and various hair products of seasons gone; instead these were replaced with a gentle texturising formula, such as Redken’s Fabricate.  This particular hair styling tool never left hair guru Guido’s side at Marc Jacobs and was the ultimate weapon of choice at shows like Proenza SchoulerMarc Jacobs revealed an all over lightweight salt spray in order to add an edge and body to the models hair.

If you are brave enough to add a little more extreme styling to your locks and wish to create a complete boyish style, then ‘grease’ is the way forward and was certainly present at the Louise Goldin show.  Such a style was created with the aid of the hairstylist Paul Hanlon.  The top hair connoisseur applied lashings of formula to various selected sections in excessive amounts, the lashings of gel crème caused hair to hang over one eye in a grungy fashion.

Alexander Wang gave models some slick shine, using the expertise of Guido.  Such a style worked to emulate that ‘super cool tomboy’ style and was finished with gallons of high shine hairspray.
