Valentino’s Rock ‘n’ Rose.

The Italian fashion designer Valentino has been in the fashion game since 1960, so you can imagine his fragrance is pretty special.  He has a vast A-list following including the likes of celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Gwen Stefani, Lindsay Lohan, and Gwenyth Paltrow.

The Packaging that houses the 90ml Rock ‘n’ Rose Eau De Parfum consist of a clear bottle that appears round in shape and has been adorned with an elegant black type which is embossed across the front of the bottle.  The type reveals both the fragrances name, which is Rock ‘n’ Rose and the name of the designer, which is Valentino of course.  This has been created in a scribble style typeface.  

The perfume appears as a Pinkish liquid and this can be seen through the bottle. For ease of use the bottle has adopted a silver push down sprayer, which allows for an even application.  The top consists of a jewel shaped black lid, which adds a little rebellious style to the packaging, which perfectly fits in with the name of this scent.  

The fragrance is said to have taken inspiration from the new generation of young Valentino women, this particular women offers a contemporary style but also combines this with a Rock ‘n Roll stance yet she is still both elegant and stylish.  The fragrance boasts to create a perfect balance between edgy modernity and Valentino’s infamous sophistication and convention.

The top notes reveal notes of bergamot, black currant, and crunch green, the middle notes are a combination of orange blossom, gardenia, muguet, and rose and the base notes include elements such as sandalwood, orris, musky notes, vanilla, and heliotrope.

A 90ml size is available for a price of £50.00.

Burberry Touch

burberry-touch-edp-spray-100mlBurberry is a label renowned for their uber stylish and extremely British styled clothing and also for using famous models such as the likes of Kate Moss for their advertising campaigns.  As well as their impressive collection of clothing, the brand also house a range of perfumes, some of which include  Burberry Weekend, Burberry Brit, Burberry London, Burberry Baby Touch and Burberry Touch.

The Packaging is traditionally Burberry in style and offers the labels’ infamous check design, the bottle comes in a beige box and the bottle itself is clear, which enables the user to see how much fragrance they have left.  The lid appears like it has been created in a wood like material and comes in a v shape.  The bottle has the Burberry logo embossed across the front in black type, with a smaller logo appearing below which reads ‘Touch for women’.

The Price of the Burrberry Touch fragrance is about £25 – £30 and this is for a 100ml sized bottle, the scent however stays on the skin for hours so there is no need to keep applying the formula.  

The perfume has great staying power and boasts to last all day.  The fragrance houses an array of ingredients in order to create a mysterious aroma with an oriental edge; these include cassis, dewberry, jasmine, vanilla, orange and cedar.  The perfume itself appears quite musky.

This is an ideal scent for those who wish to own a fragrance with a little more edge rather than being over girly, it is the perfect aroma for an evening out.

Jennifer Aniston to hit Harrods.

The Friends star will be taking her place in the renowned Georgian Restaurant in order to sign bottles of her self-titled first fragrance.

Jennifer has worked closely with the Falic Fashion Group in order to create a scent that is unique to her. The A-list celebrity quoted she desired the fragrance to be a personal library of scent memories. One particular aroma the star claims to adore is night-blooming jasmine, which she is able to connect to childhood memories of growing up in California and summer evenings.

Along with memories from the US, Jennifer has taken inspiration from various holidays to Greece and days spent at the beach. The end result is an aroma that is extremely invigorating. This is due to the mixture of the salty air and tropical oils, which represents long sunny days on the beach.

The fragrance is a mixture of sweet scented floral aromas; these include notes of rose, wild violet and Amazon lily with base notes that dry down to a woody aroma of musk, golden amber and sandalwood. For these base notes Jennifer took inspiration from the distinctive smell of wood fires.

The packaging for this particular scent certainly echoes Jennifer’s love for architecture and the bottle pays strong references to the flow of a Frank Gehry building, this has been teamed with the fluidity and organic form of a cresting wave.

Jennifer Aniston’s debut fragrance is available to purchase in three sizes, these include a 30ml bottle priced at £23, 50ml at £29 and 85ml at £36.

Entitled Voyage d’Hermès, the new fragrance from the prestigious fashion house aims to take those who are fans of the luxury label on an exciting journey. The new scent is an innovation in fragrance development as it will be available to purchase as a unisex product.

The contradictory scent is both suitable for men and women and has been created in house by top perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. The new addition to the fashion houses perfume line is the next chapter in the brands development, following on from the two previous scents, ‘Terre d’Hermès’ and ‘Eau des Merveilles’.

Just like the previous two scents, Voyage d’Hermès is also dedicated to the esteemed labels legacy. Housed in a fresh packaging that echoes both a contemporary and sophisticated style, the fragrance offers both hints of fresh woody notes contrasted with that of darker musky elements in order to appeal to both genders. The elements featured in this scent are said to convey a form of escapism and in turn take the wearer to a new place.

The lustrously designed bottle features a movable aluminium casing which in turn enables easy application of the product. Held in position by a monogrammed saddle-style nail, the bottles shape holds a strong resemblance to a riding stirrup and echoes the brands heritage perfectly.

Agent Provocateur offers a floral scent with seductive notes of wood and musk in the shape of ‘Strip’.

The scent is available in both the standard and miniature size and comes in a divine egg-shaped casing. The opaque container features both black and deep pink typography complete with a leather tassel detail adorning the neck of the bottle.

Both the name and design of the perfume echo the brands seductive nature. This theme can be found enthused in all their products and is a perfect style for the lingerie label, echoing the brands sexy feel.

With hints of green floral notes and a sharp orange contrast, the new and exciting fragrance from fashion brand Maison Martin Margiela is certainly an apt scent for the up and coming spring and summer months.

This is the first fragrance the fashion house has In fact released in twenty years and the brand have this time gone for a more personal approach, encasing both floral and woody tones. The fragrance comes in an equally toned-down bottle which almost resembles a lab container.

The new fragrance boasts to be suitable for both sexes and the name behind the scent is also the creator behind two other prestigious perfume brands. These include a selection of YSL’s Rive Gauche scents and Prada’s L’Eau Ambree. This fragrance echoes similar deep soap-like tones as found in the Prada scent but combines these notes with extravagant floral-woody tones, such as salty amber, transparent cedar and velvety musk.

The fragrances offers an expensive smelling scent when applied to the skin and is pleasant enough to be worn both through the day and in the evening due to the splash of spicy orange.

All in all the elements which make up this warm yet fresh fragrance include essence of Galbanum, bitter orange blossom, green floral notes, jasmine, galbanum and resinoid, cedar serenolide which gives the musky note and Lentiscus and incense resinoid.

The fragrance will be unleashed at the end of March and can be snapped up exclusively at Selfridges. Maison Martin Margiela’s ‘Untitled’ will be priced at £45 for 30ml.
