With hints of green floral notes and a sharp orange contrast, the new and exciting fragrance from fashion brand Maison Martin Margiela is certainly an apt scent for the up and coming spring and summer months.

This is the first fragrance the fashion house has In fact released in twenty years and the brand have this time gone for a more personal approach, encasing both floral and woody tones. The fragrance comes in an equally toned-down bottle which almost resembles a lab container.

The new fragrance boasts to be suitable for both sexes and the name behind the scent is also the creator behind two other prestigious perfume brands. These include a selection of YSL’s Rive Gauche scents and Prada’s L’Eau Ambree. This fragrance echoes similar deep soap-like tones as found in the Prada scent but combines these notes with extravagant floral-woody tones, such as salty amber, transparent cedar and velvety musk.

The fragrances offers an expensive smelling scent when applied to the skin and is pleasant enough to be worn both through the day and in the evening due to the splash of spicy orange.

All in all the elements which make up this warm yet fresh fragrance include essence of Galbanum, bitter orange blossom, green floral notes, jasmine, galbanum and resinoid, cedar serenolide which gives the musky note and Lentiscus and incense resinoid.

The fragrance will be unleashed at the end of March and can be snapped up exclusively at Selfridges. Maison Martin Margiela’s ‘Untitled’ will be priced at £45 for 30ml.

The perfume is a combination of seductive blends including hints of divine incense and arid woody notes of Sumi. The whole concept of the aroma is derived from the Japanese temples and takes inspiration from the celebrated Sumi ink that originated in the shrines.

A unique and distinctive quality offered by the fragrance is the many flavours that are packed into this one single scent. Patchouli and amber hints make up the seductive notes whilst essences of mandarin and orange in the shape of fresh aldehydes make up the fresh and upbeat tones in order to create a contrast. Magnolia adds a cheerful and positive edge to the aroma. Other ingredients include cumin, angelica root, vetiver, labdanum, cade oil, absolute folia and absolute mate.

The sweet yet seductive smelling perfume is available nationwide at a retail price of £44 for 50ml EDP.
