Pale is certainly none other than interesting when it comes to the fantasy world of Couture.
The enticing and innovative world of Couture has revealed an impressive follow-up to this season’s ready to wear collections, this follow–up appears in the shape of both a fantastical and opulent display.
Designers’ imaginations have gone over the top and are all working on the concept that anything is in fact possible. The Paris shows showcased all the top designers and major players with high fashion houses such as Dior and Armani Prive taking centre stage.
Both designers offered some exceptional pieces in the shape of two extremely different looks. At Dior, John Galliano teamed up with the renowned make-up artist Pat McGrath in order to add an injection of magic and fantasy to the equation. The in famous make-up artist to the stars created 19th Century dressage-inspired thoroughbreds with big hair, as if stepping back into the time of the Countess di Castiglione. Arching brows and perfect red cupid’s bow-adorned lips were painted on the array of models faces, which in turn resembled picture perfect china dolls.
Over at Armani Prive, the designer revealed an astrological inspired collection, the make up artist Linda Cantello worked muted pastels into the faces of models in order to create a series of ‘lunar girls’ who appeared as if they had never stepped foot in the sun.
Even though the two designs revealed some very different pieces, both opted for similar make-up I the shape of porcelain-pale skin layered with lashings of velvety powder, which was then defined by rich colour on both the eyes and the lips. Each look was certainly a bold statement that worked extremely well with attire on show.
